This page runs a single goal through the whole system so you can see the exact moves before you do them yourself. Read this once, then open the playbook you picked and mirror it with your own goal.
Example goal throughout: I am running my freelance business at $5,000/month.
Step 1 — Pick a system (30 seconds)
Use the README decision guide. For this example goal — partly external (money/clients), partly identity (being the kind of person who sustains it) — any of them works. The realistic pick for most people:
| If you… | Use |
|---|---|
| Have 20–30 min/day and want a structured course | 01-haanel |
| Prefer one nightly ritual, minimal structure | 02-neville-goddard |
| Suspect a belief is the real blocker | 03-bruce-lipton |
| Only have 2 minutes/day, want the simplest thing | 04-emile-coue |
| Want the most rigorous, meditation-based protocol | 05-joe-dispenza |
For this walkthrough we'll follow 01-haanel in full, then show how the other four restate the same goal.
Step 2 — Fill in Part A (the goal) — 5 minutes
All five playbooks want the same shape: positive, specific, stated as already done, about you.
By (date), I am (goal, completed fact).
→ By March, I am running my freelance business at $5,000/month.
Bad versions (why they fail is in each playbook's Part E):
- "I want to not be broke." — negation + vague + about absence
- "I'll work harder and maybe clients will come." — process, not end
- "My ex-bosses regret firing me." — about other people's inner states
Good version locked in:
By March, I am running my freelance business at $5,000/month.
Step 3 — Run the daily protocol (Part B)
With Haanel (20–30 min/day, every day, 24 weeks)
Exercise 1 — Concentration (5 min): sit, eyes closed, hold the single word
$5,000 in mind. Every drift, return. No anger, just the return.
Exercise 2 — Visualization (5 min): one scene, already done — the first month where the invoice total hits $5,000. Where am I (my desk), what do I see (the invoice dashboard), what do I hear (the payment notification), what do I feel in my body (relief, steadiness). Add one new sensory detail each day.
Exercise 3 — Affirmation (3–5 min): aloud, slowly, 10× — "By March, I am running my freelance business at $5,000/month." Between reps, sit with the state it implies. Don't debate it.
Weekly theme: week 1 "mental attitude," week 2 "action," week 3 "opportunity," and so on — one theme per week, re-read each morning.
The other four, same goal
- Neville (nightly SATS): a ~6-second end-scene to loop as I fall asleep — I'm at my desk, phone buzzes, I open the email from a client saying the retainer is signed, and I feel the relief. Loop until I drift off. All day: act as the person with the retainer (send the follow-up, build the kickoff plan), and when doubt says "they'll never sign," answer it: "No — it's signed."
- Lipton (reprogramming): find the program — "I'm not really a businessperson, I got lucky." Replace: "I run this business calmly and it supports me." Daily: 5 min heart-coherent breathing, 10× the replacement with feeling, then one small behavior as the new self (open the revenue spreadsheet each morning).
- Coué (autosuggestion): twice daily (on waking, before sleep), monotone whisper, no effort, counting 20× on a knotted string/beads — "Every day, in every way, I'm getting better and better," then 20× "I am running my business at $5,000/month." All day: never fight the doubt, just re-suggest quietly; stop saying "I'm struggling to make this work."
- Dispenza (meditation + walk): name the demon ("I'm not good enough to charge this"), then daily 40-min protocol — intention → expanding breath until the inner chatter stops → present moment → an ordinary Tuesday as the $5k-month operator (waking, invoicing, talking to clients without over-apologizing) → amplify that steady feeling in the body → release the wanting → gentle return. All day: one choice as the new self (e.g., raise the rate on the next proposal).
Step 4 — Duration & expectations (Part C)
| System | Daily time | Run length | Expect the first real shift |
|---|---|---|---|
| Haanel | 20–30 min | 24 weeks | weeks 4–10 |
| Neville | ~10 min, bedtime | until it lands (1–3 mo) | 3–6 weeks of nights |
| Lipton | 10–15 min | 30 days min | weeks 2–4 (behavior first) |
| Coué | 2 × 2 min | 21–30 days, re-up | days 1–7 (small), then plateau |
| Dispenza | 30–45 min | daily, ~8 wks | weeks 4–8 |
The universal warning: no visible change in the first weeks is normal and expected. Do not score the system on week 1. The first weeks are the belief working its way down.
Step 5 — Mid-run check (Part D)
Once a week, honestly answer:
- Does the goal sentence feel natural yet (or still aspirational/tight)?
- Have I caught myself acting toward it without remembering to?
- Am I expecting it more than wanting it?
Score 0–2 each. 0–3: keep going, no changes. 4–5: you're landing — keep the run. Goal feels forced after the full run length: rebuild the goal (Part A) — usually it's phrased as a possession instead of an identity, or it's someone else's goal.
Step 6 — End-of-run decision (Part E)
After the full duration, ask the honest question: did I change? The playbook succeeded if you changed — the state, the beliefs, the behavior. The external outcome is the vote, not the bet (see README's note).
- You changed, no external result yet: extend one more run, same system. Sometimes the outer event is simply slow.
- You changed, external result arrived: stop treating it as "the goal." Switch systems or take the win and start a new goal.
- You did the practice but feel nothing: switch systems before giving up — a different state/ritual style (e.g., Coué's monotone instead of Dispenza's meditation) often unlocks people a "heroic" protocol didn't.
The one-page daily cheat sheet
MORNING
□ Goal read aloud once (Part A sentence)
□ System's session (Haanel exercises / Lipton install / Coué 20× on the counter / ...)
□ (Dispenza only: the 40-min protocol — morning is best)
ALL DAY
□ Catch the old program/state → quietly re-suggest the new one
□ One choice as the new self
□ Don't rehearse failures out loud
NIGHT
□ System's session (Neville SATS / Coué 20× on the counter / Haanel affirmation / ...)
□ Optional Neville: 2-min Revision of the day as you wished it
□ Fall asleep without auditing the day
That's the whole pattern. Open the playbook you picked, replace the example goal with yours, and run. The skeleton is identical in all five files, so switching systems later doesn't cost you anything.
